Digital Capacities

Make use of digital opportunities to strengthen your mission, grounded in values, responsibility, and human dignity.

As early as 1999, Francis Nyamnjoh called for a “mitigated euphoria” toward the emerging “information superhighway.” Today’s AI revolution propels us into an even more complex digital reality. How can we stay up to date on these matters? How can our organization engage with the debate between techno-optimism (“AI will solve everything”) and techno-pessimism (“AI will take over”). How can we engage with digital opportunities in a critical and responsible way without undermining our beliefs, values, and shared humanity?

These are the core questions addressed by CAMECO in its 'Digital Capacity' section. We support civil society organizations, faith-based actors, and their partners — particularly in the Global South — in using digital tools safely, ethically, and effectively. We help you navigate digital change in ways that protect people, strengthen communities, and reinforce your commitment.

Our approach is value-based and human-centered. Digital tools only make sense when people understand how they relate to what matters most: their purpose, their communities, and their safety. That is why we focus on meaning, responsibility, critical reflection, and everyday practice — not just technical solutions.

We are not an IT service provider. Instead, we work alongside leadership, IT teams, communication units, and program staff to translate technical opportunities and emerging digital tools into processes, shared understandings, and collaboration for the common good. Through tailored trainings, workshops, coaching, and consultancy, we support organizations and donors to build sustainable digital capacities, strengthening trust and responsible action in an increasingly complex digital world.
